YEAR 2016/2017 ACADEMIC SESSION END OF WINTER/1st TERM NEWS BULLETIN
YEAR 2016/2017 ACADEMIC SESSION END OF WINTER/1st TERM NEWS BULLETIN
Our dear esteemed parents/guardians,
We give glory to God Almighty for the successful completion of the first term of 2015/2016 Academic Session and wish to bring the following activities to your attention:
1. ACADEMIC: Throughout the Academic Term, God has helped us to live up to our mission statement. Our teaching staff had been up and doing. They taught rigorously to ensure that our pupils come out in flying colours in any academic test or examinations they might have and ensured that they learn with fun.
The school opened its gates to her first set of pupils on September 9, 2016 to commence her first academic session. We started our 1st mid-term test on the 28th of October, 2016 till November 2nd, 2016. The pupils and the teachers went for mid-term break from 2nd of November, 2016 to 4th November, 2016 and resumed back to school on 7th of November, 2016 for the completion of the first term.
The academic week stopped on the tenth week while revision classes took place in the eleventh week. The winter term examination was held from 30th November, 2016 to 7th December, 2016.
The progress report of your child is put in his/her bag. Please look through the report and appreciate them as necessary while you encourage them to do better during the next term.
2. PAYMENT OF SCHOOL FEES: We would like to appreciate all our esteemed parents/guardians who paid the school fees of their children/wards promptly. Unfortunately, we still have some parents and guardians who have not fully paid their children’s school fees up till now despite the resolutions at the last parents-teachers conference. This is very disheartening because it could make the smooth running of the school frustrating. In compliance with the resolutions, at least 80% of the school fees must be paid during the holiday as pupils will not be allowed into the school from day one of resumption for the spring (2nd) term without evidence of payment of the school fees. Also, boarders will not be received in the hostel without evidence of full payment of the hostel fee. The outstanding balance must also be paid in full. God Almighty will continue to provide and enrich your pocket.
3. HOLIDAY: The holiday will commence as from Friday, December 16th, 2016. Parents/Guardians should please do their best to make sure that their children/wards enjoy the

holiday, share good moment with them and make the holiday very pleasant and full of fun to share with us when they resume.
4. RESUMPTION: The Ogun State Government has mandated all pupils to resume school by Monday, January 9th, 2017. The school expects prompt resumption of the pupils to school as it will not tolerate lateness in the interest of the pupils. Teaching and learning activities shall commence on the first day of resumption by God’s grace. Punctuality as we Know is the sole of a business.
5. PARENTS – TEACHERS CONFERENCE: The first open day and Parents – Teachers conference was held on the 5th on November, 2016 and we recorded a good turnout of parents on that day. We say a big thank you to the parents/guardians that attended. The next open day and conference will hold on within the fifth week of resumption. We implore our esteemed parents/guardians to always make themselves available to check the performances of their children and have face to face rapport with the teachers on this appointed day.
6. END OF THE YEAR PARTY: As agreed at the last parents – Teachers conference, the school will be holding her first end of the year party on the 17th of December, 2016 in the school premises commencing from 10.00 am and to end not later than 4.00 pm. We implore our parents to come with their guests and watch the pupils perform to their admiration.
7. TEA PARTY: The school will be having her first tea party on 21st of January, 2017 by 9:00 am prompt in the school premises.
8. CULTURAL DAY: The school will hold her first Cultural day within the first half of next term. Pupils should come to the school in their cultural native attires to show the diversity in our cultures.
8. EXCURSION: The pupils of LHS Nursery and Primary school will be going for an excursion during the next term. The date and amount shall be communicated to you soon.
On behalf of LHS School family, we congratulate you and your children for been the first set of pupils of the school as we wish you a merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year in advance.
